Moment # 34

“If epics are all about metaphors,” she said, “then who loved Sita more? Raama, who wanted her to go through that fire ordeal, or Raavana, who waited for her consent even though he had the capacity to rape her?” He did not enjoy complexity. He glanced at her and understood she wouldn’t let go. Debate continued, arguments offered for and against the “so-called” protagonist and antagonist. The tired couple went to sleep cuddling each other, without a conclusion.
